Get to Know LAS Voice Studio
Led by Lauren Alyssa Extrom, LAS Voice Studio invites humans of all levels, ages, abilities, genders, identities, and backgrounds to experience the liquid silk feeling that comes with singing, making music, and creating from a flow state of mind, through the fullest embodiment of yourself and your story.
LAS Voice Studio is all about the personalization that comes with private music instruction. All of the things that make you uniquely ‘you’ are celebrated in our lessons! From practicing your personal vocal anatomy awareness to learning new piano techniques, to even your favorite color and favorite animal--we take ALL of these things into consideration when planning your private lessons with Lauren. This studio is fueled by a love for and fascination of the study of the human voice paired with the study of sound and music, and their combined magical possibilities.
Offering lessons in voice, beginner/intermediate piano, music theory, and songwriting, LAS Voice Studio has something for just about everyone, whether you are a true beginner or a seasoned professional. While most lesson offerings are created through the lens of a singer/contemporary keyboardist, LAS Voice Studio will work with you from whatever discipline or instrument that you are most interested in. We specialize in a variety of musical genres, but if you are looking for something that you don’t see listed on this website, just know that Lauren is very open to doing some homework and building new skills to bring to LAS Voice Studio, or she will at least refer you to another teacher who is a pro in that genre.

Lauren Alyssa Extrom
Professional vocalist, session singer, producer, songwriter, keyboardist, music director, teaching artist, and RYT 200 certified trauma-informed yoga teacher
Lauren Alyssa Extrom (she/her/hers) is a professional vocalist, session singer, producer, songwriter, keyboardist, music director, teaching artist, and RYT 200 certified trauma-informed yoga teacher.
Lauren is very passionate about the overlap between vocal/human anatomy, music education, sound healing, and yoga, and strives to include elements of all of these disciplines in her teaching, regardless of the type of lesson she is leading. She is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment to all who join her studio and workshops, by including things such as diverse music repertoire (including music in different languages…fun fact, Lauren is fluent in Spanish), neurodivergent-aware practice routines and warm-up rituals, and a feelings wheel that can be used for nervous system regulation, as well as channeling different feelings as a character in a musical theatre number. Her education in western classical music paired with her life experiences in the contemporary music industry have prepared her to create a studio that is well-rounded in its awareness and musical offerings.
Lauren is a graduate of Boston University’s College of Arts and Sciences with degrees in Music and American Studies, with concentrations in voice and musicology. She is also a graduate of New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development with a Masters in Performing Arts Administration, with a concentration in arts education.
In addition to operating LAS Voice Studio, Lauren also works as a professional vocalist, session singer, producer, songwriter, keyboardist, music director, teaching artist, and RYT 200 certified trauma-informed yoga teacher. She is currently recording and producing her first ever EP, entitled “This Blue Woman” with an expected release in November 2024.
